+4, I hope he would be able to make it out of the primary because he would be an excellent national candidate. He’s the only Republican I’ve ever voted for and I would love to vote for him in a presidential election.

I am SO grateful to have Hogan to counteract the insane Democrat politicians in Montgomery County who would be so much worse if not kept in check by the state.

Yay for ‘checks and balances’ in government.

You know you don't have to live MoCo, right?

We’ll be out of here as soon as we can! Unable to leave MoCo right now due to a job. But would happily relocate to VA. Or even a more sane county in Maryland.

OMG there are plenty of Democrats and Independents who are shouting out to end the Covid restrictions. You really need to broaden your social circle or news outlets.

IDK.. is enacting the national guard and bypassing certain regulations just "political nonsense"?

Authorization of Maryland Secretary of Health to Regulate Hospital Personnel, Bed Space, and Supplies. To assist hospitals and nursing homes in addressing staffing shortages, Governor Hogan signed an executive order that authorizes the secretary of the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) to:

Direct and expedite the transfer of patients between facilities as necessary;
Establish alternate care sites, and allow the Health Services Cost Review Commission to set rates for them;
Allow interstate reciprocity for health care licenses;
Allow inactive health care practitioners to practice without reinstating their licenses;
Authorize graduate nurses to work at any health care facility and to provide full nursing services;
Allow health care practitioners to practice outside the scope of their licenses;
Regulate elective medical procedures as necessary; and
Issue directives to control and monitor COVID-19 in nursing homes and similar congregate care facilities.

What are you talking about? Are you even paying attention to what’s happening nationally? Oregon, Connecticut, Delaware and New Jersey are dropping a rolling back their mask mandates. All of them are Democratic governors. In dark blue states. Nothing about this is pandering to the ‘right’.

Some of those states may have dropped statewide mas mandates recently. Hogan did that months and months ago. Ending the state of the emergency is a step far beyond just ending a statewide mask mandate.

Honestly, I am the biggest Republican hater there is out there and I think Hogan is a little bit incompetent (see Purple Line, lack of success in getting schools to open, etc.) but he is completely correct on this.

+1 He's a cancer survivor. He's taken covid seriously, but he sees that the covid infection rate is low and the vaxx rate is high (yay). Time to move on.
