Totally agree. There are lots of birth control options for women or a vasectomy for the man if you are done having kids. These unexpected pregnancies are obviously people who didn’t feel totally done so took no precautions. That’s not really a surprise pregnancy.
Well BC fails. I became pregnant with an IUD, so there is absolutely times with unexpected/surprise pregnancies.

You had vaginal intercourse so pregnancy cannot be unexpected or a surprise.
Np. Seriously shut up.

That’s not what science says. There are only two genders. Sorry. Not everyone believes this nonsense.
The one spouting nonsense is YOU
Nope. There are only two genders and those who think they are more suffer from mental illness. I wish you well and hope you find a good psychiatrist for your mental illness.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Whoa you people are nuts. What is wrong with OP saying the pregnancy was unexpected? For whatever reason, she didn’t expect to get pregnant.
It’s just annoying when people describe something very controllable as happening unexpectedly. OP came back and said hers was in fact a BC failure so fine in her case that’s cool to call it unexpected. But usually it’s people who just weren’t being careful as BC failures are pretty rare (<1% chance)

That’s exceedingly rare. Was yours an ectopic pregnancy? Typically if you get pregnant w an IUD it is not viable pregnancy.
No. They aren't sure if the embryo pushed the IUD out, or it wasn't placed well. But it happened. It was a hell of a surprise.
Once that was over, my husband did get a vasectomy, but let's not pretend that BC is 100%.
I don’t think anyone thinks BC is 100%. Nothings 100% at preventing pregnancy except abstinence. Even vasectomy has a failure rate. But fewer than 1% of people w IUDs get pregnant. So it’s still exceedingly rare. Most of the time when posters say they had an unexpected pregnancy they actually mean they weren’t being that careful/weren’t using BC appropriately.

There was a YouTube thing where a couple got pregnant 10 years after her husband had a vasectomy. It’s rare but it can happen.
