MARYLAND MAIN EVENT COACHES:
2023 - Shelly Brezicki - Manchester Valley/Skywalkers
2024 - Joanna Lignelli - Coppermine
Molly McLaughlin - Skywalkers
2025 - Brian Reese - Maryvale Prep
Corrine Drost - Roland Park Country School
2026 - Paul Billingsley - MD United
Tierney Ahearn - Hero's
Tryouts are next week for Virginia and none of the Virginia coaches have been named yet?
There is likely a huge political fight underway at the highschool level with the low-end clubs like YJMA, YJS, and even Pride at this point (sadly), fighting to get coaching spots. The only clubs that should really get coaching spots are Capital and maybe VA Metro - for high school. The 8th grade spot should go to Stars or Pride as those are best 2 clubs by far for ‘26.
VA Metro coach is the one that ruined UA DC team for the past several years

No more not-making the Baltimore team and burning rubber down 95 to try out for the DC team.
I'd be so annoyed as a DC player, and parent!
Some players from other places try to make hotbed teams as a flex, when in reality it's only the club coach who gets you on the team.
There will always been some issues here. For instance, can a girl who lives in Bethesda and plays for Pride try out for DC/VA team?
Bigger issue is girls flying to Texas or Tennessee to tryout.
