+1 wake Forest is the exact opposite of lazy. There is grade deflation and most definitely not a party school.

I’d rather my kid go to JMU and give them the extra $240K I’m not paying to Wake so they can buy a house. Or invest it and give them the money in 15 years.

It was @$20k/year when I was there - 98 grad

I have some friends who sent their kids recently. I’m actually glad my kid is more state school bound.

THAT'S your solution? So, you're willing to invest $160,000 in two years of college education with the hopes that your child gets to choose his preferred major? And what if it doesn't work out?

Wake was ranked as the top school in the southern region when I applied in the 90s, but they made a couple changes to get ranked as a national university despite being smaller. It sometimes breaks into the T25, but pretty sure it is held back by size. It has been consistently been T30, though.

It is more a LAC than a national university, and probably should be on the lists with Middlebury and Amherst

Sounds like Northeastern is the clear winner.

Rank doesn't matter much between #25ish and #50ish.

Also added risk for getting in to WF business major.

Sour grapes much! It’s okay not to like a school but don’t tear it down. There is a reason it’s ranked higher than other schools like northeastern. To each it’s own, Boston is a pricey to live in and you get the same salary in NC and by the way, wake offers merit too.

JFC - lazy high schoolers? Most of the kids when I was there were tops in their class. Yeah, there were a few of them that were lazy legacy trust funders, but they were not the norm.

ROTFLMAO. 1st post nails it. Wake is a school for lazy high schoolers. Smart but lazy af. They may have to work nice they get there but they don’t work to get there.

Every parents tell their kids to study hard no matter what for 4 years.

Added risk is an added risk, and it's a factor in choosing a college.
