Actually Carhartt WIP (not the plain Carhartt stuff you can find on say, Amazon) is considered a hype streetwear brand. It’s not “luxury” but it’s most definitely cool, very good quality, and more expensive

Would accessibility not make Saint Laurent lower than Louis Vuitton or Chanel since you can purchase it at Department Stores like Bergdorf/Neiman/Saks etc..? While you would need to go to the dedicated store for LV or Chanel for example.

I think that chart is from the late aughts - I vaguely remember seeing it then. The price points are also off. Back in the day (early 2000s), the Birkin was closer to $5k. Now it’s $11k. This chart lists Hermes at the $5k threshold.

I’m not into watches, so I can’t tell you much about how Rolex, AP, and Patek would rank, though it does seem like AP is near the top of the food chain.
And of course, on some level this is all a complete joke. Some women will look down their nose at the Alhambra line, others will consider it a super special piece. Not all of us are Oprah and can waltz into Graff for the finest of jewels. 😝

The above list isn’t at all how I would characterize things.

Chanel

Dior, Celine
(Gap)
Saint Laurent, Bal, Fendi, Goyard, Bottega, Prada
Chloe, Mulberry
Gucci, LV
There are also brands that fly under the radar and aren’t super popular, so they are hard to place: Moynat, Dalveaux, Judith Lieber. Frankly, I would put Loewe here too.
The ones at the top tend to have more historically iconic bags (Birkin, CF, Lady Dior) and generally bring out something very popular every 5-7 years (Chanel 19, Book Tote). That next group is known to have beautiful bags, but they tend to have weaker resale value (showing the market values them less) and they are really only as popular as their latest big hit (Jodi, City). LV is complicated because it’s super iconic, but looked down upon due to logos. It also tends to be where women start collecting designer bags.
