Now you know that most people think you're a clown, but they're too polite to say it.

"We're all making choices" oh shut up. Your kid goes to Georgetown Prep, which has both a vaccine (with booster) mandate and a mask mandate.

What does Alexandria and read the room have to do with anything. Is Alexandria a mask wearing tribe? What are the risks to the triple vaxxed, how does that compare to flu and other viruses, how exactly effective are a lot of these masks?
When you see the camera pan the room, every single other person is masked

Go to an Alexandria restaurant and no one is wearing a mask. Saw a concert at the Birchmere and no one was wearing a mask. When does it end? Does what we are doing make sense? We are two years in and it is time to be asking those questions IMO.
I'm not a public health expert and I don't know the answer to that question. It is common courtesy that when you are in a whole room full of people, who are all masked, that you don't be a d*ck about putting on a mask yourself. Read the room, buddy.

Crabs in a bucket…
Except that in this case, putting on a mask costs you exactly nothing. You put it on for the 10 minutes you are inside the store, where it will make everyone else more comfortable to see you masked, then you get to leave and take off your mask. If you're a normal, decent person that is. If you're the sort of person who'd call this "crabs in a bucket," then I guess you'd see the stakes differently.
