Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally (R-Oak Ridge) told The Times News this week that members of the Senate’s Committee are examining the matter.

“I think what they’re looking at is the plea agreement where she did admit to committing felonies,” McNally reportedly said.

“It will be up to them to make recommendations.”

Robinson has not addressed the matter this week on her social media pages.

Federal officials accused Robinson of using federal grant money awarded to a health care school – The Healthcare Institute (THI) – that she operates. They accused her of using $600,000 from the school to pay for her wedding, a political campaign event, and other personal expenses such as designer purses and vacations.

Mayor Sheila Dixon was indicted Friday on charges that she accepted illegal gifts during her time as mayor and City Council president, including travel, fur coats and gift cards that she allegedly used for a holiday shopping spree.

A grand jury indicted Dixon on 12 counts, including four counts of perjury and two counts of theft over $500. She was also charged with theft under $500, fraudulent misappropriation by a fiduciary and misconduct in office.

Navarrete, 35, is accused of repeatedly abusing a boy with whom he was living over a period of several years, according to court records. The boy, now 16, told detectives that Navarrete touched his genitals with his hands and mouth, starting when he was around 12 or 13 and continuing through his 15th birthday. The teen said he suffers from anxiety and anger that stems from the abuse.
