It’s thick enough when it’s hot, for me anyway. I don’t need it to keep its shape after you take a spoonful.

I love warm chocolate pudding right from the stove. I haven't had pudding in years but my grandmother used to make it for me and thinking about it brings back some wonderful memories.

This, plus you need to line the dishes with Nilla Wafers. The submerged/bottom half get soft, and the top half above the skin stays hard, so you can use it to scoop some of the pudding.

My kids really love to like the pot when I make pudding, so it must be good.

Personally, I think it needs to be cold or room temp. Otherwise it will melt the whipped cream I make to go on top! I usually leave the individual cups on the counter to come to room temp before covering and putting in the frig. Sometimes there just isn’t enough time to get them in the frig and chilled. Never heard a single complaint.

Nothing like very hot chocolate pudding in a bowl, covered with cold milk. Amaaaaazing.

Yes, all puddings are good puddings! I like chocolate pudding hot with cream or ice cream and also cold, especially in chocolate cream pies. Yum! OP, thank you for reminding me to make puddings this week!
