OP here, and thanks asking!
Saturday morning, I consumed the only piece of bacon I'll probably eat all year.
Yes, I'm thrifty and yes, I'm taking the opportunity to enjoy the boatload of vegetables I typically eat prepared with something other than my usual EVOO.
Considering I'm 5'3" and 110lbs. with low blood pressure and low cholesterol, this feels 100% logical to me in my one wild and precious life.
Enjoy your day!

This. I don’t consider it wasteful to throw out something that is terrible for your health.

Anonymous wrote:lol - yep, same here. I was aghast when I first heard about bacon jars from my Southern DH, but I’m on board now. Makes a yummy grilled cheese sandwich. Mmmmm.Anonymous wrote:You can use it to flavor greens. To make black eyed peas. In cornbread. To grease a skillet for eggs. Use it to make biscuits. Add to mashed potatoes. So many others. I’m guessing you are not a southern cook. We use bacon grease in just about everything. ❤️

I’m a vegetarian, BTW.
