Be opportunistic. Very opportunistic. My DH and I always figure something out on vacation. Bathroom quickies are underrated.

Who are these 10 year olds who can’t walk around a resort by themselves

Reminds me of the family vacation where I was leaving the ice cream shop with DS and in walks my 10yo nephew. "Where's dad?" I asked. "Taking a nap with mom."

Have your wife take the kids on the boardwalk and you have an appointment in the room with an escort? all it takes is a little creativity.

Yes, this is the last year you can send the 12 year old to most kids clubs!

Do it after they are asleep, be super quiet, and finish before your wife climaxes so there is no noise from her.

We once got it on in a walk in closet when the kids were asleep. They were 3 and 6.

2 rooms I can see. But I'd really love to know how the balcony comes into play as opposed to 2 rooms...

do you leave the kids out on the balcony, close the sliding glass door and the drapes while you get it on, or do you let the kids stay in the room while you and DH put on an outdoor show?

I gotta know...

Kids which TV while mom and dad hangout on the balcony with the curtains closed, or is it kids go outside and watch the sunset for a half hour and don't worry about the locked door

Shower. Put the kids in front of the iPad or TV they’ll never realize you’re gone.

But if the 12yo is mature, that changes things. My 12yo nephew is quite responsible with his 10yo brother.

I am the wife and I insist on 2-room suites even in junky hotels, though. So I get that. Lol

The last time we all had to stay in a single room we sent our 3 teens (16, 13, 12) out after dinner to walk the boardwalk along the beach. We gave them money for ice cream at the place way down at the other end of the strip. And gave them each $10 to spend on anything they wanted in a gift shop. That got us 2 hours alone.
On most trips we rent a cabin/house or at least 2 hotel rooms. On one of our trips this summer we found a rental cabin that had 5 bedrooms for the same price as 2 hotel rooms. It was fabulous! Not a fancy cabin but each kid had their own room so everyone got better sleep.
