I do not know any of these wingnuts in my actual day-to-day LCPS experience. I try to keep in mind there are 80k+ kids in LCPS and the media is kowtowing to what amounts to a tiny percentage of parents.

My daughter used to go to BRMS where this nutty lady (who has like 20 kids) was handing out donuts on Monday. She said she would have traded her mask for a donut and then gotten a new mask at the school door, lol.

These are the same parents who heckled a student who spoke at the LCPS School Board meeting yesterday. They heckled a child to the point she cried. These are the people I wish I had pictures of. I would put them on blast. The student mentioned supporting masks and the low iq crowd put their trashy behavior on display.

They are the minority. Don't be afraid of Loudoun.

This succinctly sums up that whole anti LCPS group.

Please no one who lives in Loudoun is shocked this nonsense is coming out of Woodgrove and LVHS. No one. It’s another planet out there. They are also the reason we have so many snow days. I wish they would secede.

Woodgrove is known for this kind of garbage. Loudoun Valley is known for having very entitled white students.

No, it sounds like at Woodgrove all the unmasked students were sent to the auditorium all day. https://loudounnow.com/2022/01/24/maskless-monday-hits-loudoun-schools-further-divides-families-and-district/

Yes, seeing that now

Thank you principal Shipp. More parents agree with you than the small group of nutso rabid low iq parents who are wasting so much of the school system's time.

Frigging imbeciles.

It’s not exactly the smart end of Northern Virginia.

I live in Eastern Loudoun which feels exactly like Fairfax. None of this crazy $hit on the news is coming from this part of the county. It’s like two separate worlds - the western and eastern parts of the county. I know literally no one like these nuts.

Exactly! Split the county!

Western Loudoun is why we have so many snow days anyway!

The split in the county is Leesburg. West of Leesburg might as well be southern VA. A bunch of hillbillies who want nothing to change. East of Leesburg is basically like Fairfax.

My teens reported even fewer kids without masks today at their LCPS HS, so that seems positive.

I live in Purcellville and you're not quite right. It's about 50/50 here now and changing. Some of us liberals came out to the frontier to colonize this place. Don't leave us hanging -- have our back.

Just move back east. They are hopeless.

Aren't Woodgrove and LVHS in the Purcellville Historic District/Town? Median income is $62k. For Loudoun County as a whole, it's $119k, supposedly the highest in the country.

No, Woodgrove isn't in town. It's out on Allder School Road towards Hillsboro. It draws from most of the 10-acre mcmansions in the area.

I really feel like the only solution here to this behavior is take pictures and post online near and far. People have a right to know if they are employing, doing business with, or sharing a pew with the type of people who pull this crap.

Good. They can keep their germy air to themselves. Keep them from exposing and infecting teachers and other students.

Aren’t the teachers and other students wearing THEIR masks?

This only works best as a collective action. If you don’t know this by now, you haven’t been paying attention

Actually, the wearer of a higher-quality mask is better protected even when it's only one way, vs. two way of lower quality masks, especially when not properly worn, consistently.
So for example a vaccinated person who believes they are at higher risk of severe disease would be better off focusing on wearing their very best option for a mask, than caring whether or not others (like students) wear worthless cloth masks (that get taken off throughout the day, often are not worn properly, etc.).

So at this point it would be better to stop worrying about kids wearing masks. Those who are extra concerned: get vaxxed. Get boosted. Wear the best mask your money can buy or stay away from group environments until you're comfortable.
