That’s why it should be between a woman and her health care provider.

Aborting babies with downs = eugenics; be careful what you’re actually promoting.

Are you going to be the one caring for such a child? No? Then not your business or your mental anguish to deal with for the rest of your life.

Well if I had one then yes. But I’m permanently physically disabled from birth. In today’s world, mothers who find out they are carrying my disease are actively encouraged to abort. I live a very fulfilling life today. I’m married, with children, have graduate degrees, employed, have great friends, volunteer in my community. I am pro-choice.

However, promoting the ability to abort your downs baby is horrible and eugenic. And if you’re not familiar with the eugenic movement and how it is still widely acceptable in 2022 to treat the disabled as having less than lives, rationing their care, considering them a burden, promoting their removal from society then SHAME ON YOU! You’re disgusting!

I’m glad some posters are so ok with eugenics. I think every woman should have a choice but I don’t think we should be celebrating the eugenic movement of aborting babies with any perceived disability. This is a dangerous road to go down.

Thanks for reminding me how cr@pay the world still views me. As if I needed a reminder but thanks anyway.

No one is “encouraging” anyone to abort. Doctors sharing facts and options is not “encouraging.”

There is no eugenics movement. I actually had several family members sterilized in the US’s eugenics phase. Don’t be flippant about what was taken from my family members.

I agree with people with disabilities having greater visibility, access and rights and women deserve to make their own reproductive decisions. That’s why I support the Democratic Party.

That’s not eugenics. When your arguments have zero basis in reality, you’ve lost the argument.

Eugenics is the state deciding you are not worthy of reproducing. A woman choosing to abort a pregnancy with Downs, or with its brain growing outside its skull or with no kidneys isn’t eugenics any more than a woman choosing to stop at two children is “population control.”

I’m very comfortable with what I’m promoting, thanks.
Also apologies for giving the right wing nut jobs in the Va state legislature
The benefit of the doubt that they had written in exceptions for rape and incest.
My bad.

The Gallup poll doesn’t indicate “broad support” for restrictions “more than allowed under Roe v. Wade.”

It is as you say. Americans rightly support abortion access.

The poll finds that 60% percent of Americans say Roe v. Wade should be upheld, while 27% say it should be overturned. […] Sixty-five percent of Americans say the Supreme Court should reject the [Texas] law, while 29% say the law should be upheld. More broadly, 58% to 36% of Americans oppose states considering or passing laws that make it more difficult for abortion clinics to operate there.“

the same 60% also support Biden's agenda. the same ~60% vote for democrats as reflected by aggregate votes in the House and Senate.

It is only because we have the electoral college, a cap on House members and a structural imbalance in the Senate that we have a gridloicked government. It isn't close, the pro-Chioce is not the minority, a liberal agenda is not the minority and anyone on the right who says otherwise is gaslighting and in favor of a tyranny of a minority rule in this country.

Texas is 6 weeks. That’s a single missed period.

20 weeks is 5 months.

Not like Texas, which is 6 weeks. This is 20 weeks, 14 weeks (3.5 months) later. So no, not the same.

Yup, no exceptions. You can read the full text.

Enjoy carrying your rapist’s baby, UVA gals.

Now might be the time to revisit, “Democratic” Youngkin voters, what your “news” sources are, how you got snowed about irrelevant nonsense and how you’re going to be smarter going forward. You literally voted for a Trumper.

Hope not teaching "CRT" was worth it when your dd has to quit college to carry a rape baby to full term.

What's the difference between an abortion at 19.5 weeks and one at 20? I'm sure that most women don't have abortions after 20 weeks anyway; just those where the fetus has gross abnormalities. I guess that will mean more women aborting a fetus before they've had the 20-week fetal anomaly scan.
