Indeed. They hardly serve the community they occupy.

Same PP - most will continue to mask in our cohort through the next few weeks. Personally, we are doing it out of respect to the teachers, not concerns for DC. They will get a booster soon and that will be another reason to drop the masks. However, once this surge drops in a few weeks we are going to go maskless.

When we go to Mass many people aren’t in masks anymore and have not been for months. I know a lot of people who had Omicron over the past month in our community, family in other states, and co-workers, all with few complaints beyond 48 hour flu. Many assume there are few concerns as a result of their experiences.

I tend to agree. I think we’ll have a contingent who won’t but they’re the ones who try to avoid it now as much as possible anyway. My kids will still be wearing them for sure.

Yes, at our north Arlington k-8 we hear that most families plan to continue to mask. There are some very vocal outliers who already try to flout the guidelines and we’ll see who they do.

Hopefully. I don't know why it is so hard for people to grasp that if infection is raging (like recently) or a dangerous variant (like delta) is circulating, you should wear a stupid mask. If neither of those are happening, probably don't need it.

I posted another thread that no one replied to. Does anyone know how DC parochials are allowed to do 5 day quarantine?. The rest of DC schools pub/priv have to do 10 day quarantine after positive test.

I agree. That’s why we left our church. Leadership is so out of touch and political.
