Am I the only one who read this as porn competitions?![]()

Not true - pretty sure that spectators are allowed at “indoor” track meets being held outdoors![]()
We were able to watch from outside the stadium through the chain link fence. One parent wandered into the stadium and was quickly shooed away.
Holy crap, are you serious? They didn’t even do that in spring 2021, although we had to wear masks at the first meet.
Meanwhile students will not have to wear masks for school in Virginia. That is the extreme between MCPS and the rest of the world.

+1 Why not allow spectators who can show proof of vaccinations to watch? That’s what the Montgomery County Council is doing for bars and restaurants.
Case counts are also diminishing. Why not allow two spectators per athlete to attend?
Vaccinated individuals can and do still transmit Covid. Requiring proof of vaccines does not make anyone ‘safer’ except the person who is actually vaccinated.
Then why hasn’t the Montgomery County Council closed bars and restaurants? Thus far, no proof of vaccinations has been needed for these facilities.
MCPS’s entire approach for COVID has been extreme from canceling graduation in 2020, to online learning for all of last year, to no winter sports last year, to banning all spectators this winter. MCPS doesn’t care about what this does to diminish a child’s high school experience.

Anonymous wrote:Covid rates are going down and not one case has been linked to spectators but MCPS will find a way to stick up the middle finger to students and parents.
