That is a fad...the opposite of quintessential.

Fad? That 4 door Jeep Wrangler was the rich kid car in our oldest daughter's high school over 10 years ago. She's 28 years old.

Yep. Same in my hometown since the early 90s.

This is actually the best answer to the thread.

Jeep Wranglers are the opposite of a fad.

From one random kid driving one a years ago to every other teen driving or wanting to drive one but it's not a fad?

My graduating class in 1992 no fewer than 10% drove wranglers or CJs.

Seriously though, what is the cutoff on either HHI and/or net worth for UMC?

Middle Class is roughly 86k - 136k HHI nationally.

I’d say up to 250k HHI would be middle class around here

Anything over 250k HHI in this area is UMC.

OP here. No one is striving. I find that people with money tend to make more prudent decisions. I like to drive my cars til they die. Now that my car is almost dead, I had no idea what the new work horse is.

If you weren’t “striving” you wouldn’t tie your question to socioeconomic class.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to research what brands out there give you high value and vehicles you can drive “til
they die.”
