Yes, they do. I have no fashion sense and it's a common joke. Adults definitely tease each other about their foibles.
These are not remotely congruent. Your friend makes things for you as a gift. She spends her time and money on you. And in response, you say mean things. Your fashion sense of lack thereof is purely personal.
