But so few players go to “the better” schools. Look at the list the clubs put out. It is not a way to cheat the system. Too many parents wake up to this too late.

Better is relative. What I meant was a kid goes to a better academically school than they otherwise would have if not for soccer. Are there a lot of these? Maybe not. But they do exist. A kid with decent grades that is able to get into a school they wouldn't have been as competitive for academically but being recruited for the soccer team puts them over the edge. You can't tell by looking at the list clubs put out because you don't know what kind of grades the kid got. For some kids just getting to a decent academic college is an achievement. Before you thumb your nose at the commitments to the Coastal Carolinas and Central Connecticuts, where do you think those kids would be going to college without soccer?

There are so many different way to look at this: money, better soccer, better for academics, a combo. That leads different people to different places.

Harvard is still not taking you unless you are more or less a Harvard girl. Soccer does not take a B student and get her to Harvard. How many girls each year in each club would be Harvard qualified? In this area 1-2 at best? Now assume Harvard gives no money. Can those particular 1-2 go there without money? A lot goes into this.

No but there are lots of A students who would not get a second look at Harvard and that is when sports can help out.

Ivies and other similar schools turn down all kinds of students who have the grades to be accepted.

Cheat? Who is cheating? Not sure I get your point.

Opponents are relative to seeding from previous year. Sometimes schedules can be easy sometimes they can be very difficult. All that matters is that college coaches show up to games

Just ignore Bobby. He’s jealous. I suspect his next post will bash Loudoun. Otherwise, great opportunity for the girls regardless of whether someone seems a school or program “better” or not.

How many scholarships were given out? Any D1 power school? Any schools who made the NCAA tournament or that does not really matter?

Pssss ...who cares? Money is money. Is your daughter going to put "I played Power 5" on her resume?

If not, it's irrelevant. However, debt is real.
