Wait, you think the food of an entire continent is inedible because it might have nuts in it? You know there are people with nut allergies... in Asia. Right??
Look, we're an Asian American family, but my BFF's kid has peanut and tree nut allergies. While I agree the post is oversimplified, most countries in the world have 1) nuts in many dishes and 2) people with nut allergies.
One could also say they don't buy from Southern bakeries and what would the response be? There are people with nut allergies in the US South? And?
It's true, in any event, that particularly Vietnamese and Thai have peanuts in so many things, and many Chinese and Indian dishes from regions well-represented in US restaurants have peanuts/tree nuts as well.
Sure, Asia is an entire continent, including some less-nutty cuisines, but the above four account for a very large percentage of what's out there in terms of Asian food in the DMV.
Japanese and Korean food would be less problematic, I think. Other cuisines are less commonly-found.
