I visited my mom over Christmas and she had packets for seasoning sloppy joes. I guess she must have done this when I was growing up, but I have not recollection of it.
Mom is a pretty solid cook and has all your standard herbs, spices, and condiments. It was weird.

We are not too big on meat loaf in my household (I like it but no one else)… that said have never used a packet. I have used the Alton Brown recipe linked by a PP.

I made meatloaf tonight for the first time in years, and it was delicious and perfect for the weather (and no, I didn't use a packet, and I tend to use Italian spices and Marinara instead of ketchup) so did so tonight.

I don’t use a meatloaf packet, per se, but I do use Sazon Completa as my only powdered seasoning. Then I add Worcestershire, mustard, and tomato paste to round out the flavors.

Never knew there was a packet for meatloaf. I usually make a version of this recipe with ham or salami and cheese inside
I've never used a packet for meatloaf [for other things yes]. I adapt the Italian turkey meatloaf from all recipes and my family loves it

1 large garlic clove
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup wine
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1-2 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon of parsley
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1 small onion or 1/2 a medium size
1 red pepper
1 large egg
1/3 ground lamb
1/3 ground pork
1/3 ground beef
Throw everything but the meat in the Cuisinart and make a paste. Mix paste and meat together, put in pan from and cook slow and low(315)till internal temperature 165-170.
I usually make 3 times this because it is easier to buy the meat by the pound. Freeze the other two meatloaf (place inform, wrap with plastic wrap, tin foil and place in a zip lock bag).
