That might be true, but no one was there to except the packages because they’re all out with Covid

If the possibility didn't come up at the School Board meeting, it doesn't seem like it's being planned for as some kind of option. And if it was even remotely possible for next week, I HOPE APS would be laying the groundwork for it.

Oh, they could totally drop it from the sky. In fact, that's what I'd expect. They don't want to start to take the heat by laying groundwork unless they know they can't possibly avoid it.

It just seems like APS would have given us a heads up if going virtual really were on the table for some point next week. They couldn't just drop it from the sky, right?

If the possibility didn't come up at the School Board meeting, it doesn't seem like it's being planned for as some kind of option. And if it was even remotely possible for next week, I HOPE APS would be laying the groundwork for it.

They will say it's staffing issues. If they do it school by school, middle school is likely to be first. They have the highest rates of kids out and teachers out; combined.


I thought it had to be school by school (and even class by class) based on the VA law


SB 1303 doesn’t require the decision to be class by class, although it’s possible that districts might sometimes implement it that way. Staff absenteeism can be a factor in determining whether to close.
