Yeah, but they sell stuff like Royal Canin and Hills prescription diet.

Yes, they do.....know why? Because it has gone thru trials and tested to do what it is supposed to do....

Are you’ve a shill for the pet food industry LOL?

No - as a matter of fact, I am not....are you a licensed veterinary nutritionist? Didn't think so....

Licensed veterinary nutritionist?
Anyone who thinks soybean meal and corn gluten is acceptable for dogs is not worth listening to.

Np. Exactly. I dont know who to trust and its definitely not the vet themselves anymore. They overprice their medications.

So.....you trust your vet to treat your pets, but you don't want them to make a living at it, is that right?

Yes, medications cost more with them - because they do not get the huge bulk discount that Chewy/CVS/Costco gets....

If everyone keeps treating their vet as spectacularly as you are, there won't be any left because they are leaving the profession in droves.....low pay, long hours, and unappreciative clientele....

My other can’t handle it gastrointestinally, so she gets kibble.

I buy from a bulk dog food producer who sells premade “chubs” with the right formulations. I’ve also fed premade raw patties from the holistic pet store when I run out.

GNawing on bones is a sure fire way to crack a tooth - they should chew on anything that would hurt if it whacked you in the knee.....

Actually, as long as they aren’t weight bearing bones it’s fine! My little dog is only 10 lbs but goes to town on turkey necks and chews the bones completely.

Agree with you though, I’d never give her a cow femur or something like that. I’m anti antler for the same reason.

And while you are at it, look up nutritional cardiomyopathy in dogs - that is what happens when people jump on the grain free bandwagon.....

Look up what raw diets can do - bacterial contamination, nutritional deficiency and damage from bones...but you do you.....

We tried Darwin’s Natural for 2 shipments. You can choose conventional or organic meat/vegetables. They have a well-priced trial for your 1st box. It includes beef, turkey, and chicken. The meat has any extra vitamins or minerals needed added as well as some vegetables. My dog was fine with it except for the beef. Unfortunately, he was really sensitive to the beef recipe and had diarrhea. By the end, I was baking even the turkey and chicken because of digestive issues. My neighbors dog thrives on raw. She uses Primal brand which you can buy in stores like the Loyal Companion in Bethesda. I think that not every dog is the same!

Today our first box of Ollie arrived. Ollie is human grade food gently cooked and flash frozen. We are trying the chicken, lamb, and turkey. It’s nice that I don’t have to deal with raw meat. We will see how my dog liked it. Good luck!
