Discovery also was local and a house setting whereas Rogers was very far away and a hospital setting. Definitely can recommend Discovery if you can get on their waiting list. There also are 3 houses in our area so their list moves a little faster.
I am not sure if there are two different posters here but would one of you (or you lol) mind sending me an email at lookingforlocalRTCs@gmail.com. I would love to hear more about your experience. DD has been accepted at Rogers and it is a four-month waiting list but we think we might want to go that route since we would feel more comfortable in a hospital setting. And then possibly after that she could go to Discovery.
PP, agreed that we need to treat this very seriously and we are. The waiting lists are gigantic because of COVID so unfortunately we will have to keep her at home until she goes somewhere. She will be under "hospital rules" until she goes somewhere to get treated. What a journey....

We are looking into Discovery. Which one did you kid go to? It would be the easiest for us since it's local and it is covered by insurance, but I have a hard time finding any reviews about it.
She was in the Annandale house, one of the newer ones.
PP above, whose DD was at Discovery’s Annandale house for 7.5 weeks. Your DD has had an actual suicide attempt. She desperately needs the intensive help the therapists there provide. They are covered by insurance, which is very extremely hard to come by and would cost you close to $50,000-$80,000 for a residential stay otherwise. They are local, so you can run things to her if needed (they don’t allow visitations due to covid but I said hello from the yard). Don’t hesitate any longer trying to hunt down reviews, get her on the waitlist NOW and then research more while you wait. If you find somewhere else, just say so when they call and they’ll move to the next name on the list.
If your DD is like ours, this is a mental health issue that will not go away fast or easily. It will be a marathon, not a sprint, and you need to jump on whatever intensive help you have access that insurance covers. Particularly since there has been an actual attempt.

Anonymous wrote:Rogers only has residential in Wisconsin. PHPs in several other locations. They are an in network provider for many insurance plans. We had an excellent experience with them. They do tend to have a long wait list.
Anonymous wrote:Have been collecting a list recently from DBT specialists. Have not had to go that route (yet). Here are the ones suggested: best (and expensive): Rogers - Minnesota, Silver Hill in CT, McLean in Boston. Others that may be in-network: The Midwest Center (Illinois?), Skyland Trails, Atlanta; Hillside; Timberline Knolls. I have not done due diligence on any of these, but the people giving me these names were very knowledgeable and astute clinicians. Hope you are able to find someplace soon.
