As expected, a ton of reporting today! Up to 160 teacher/staff out.

No one would choose to have to submit ten days of lesson planning over five days.

Everyone has been on vacation, and therefore, almost no one has been reporting.

There’s a strong incentive to test positive tomorrow instead of today.

What is incentive of 1/2/22 vs. 1/3/22?

Shortened quarantine if positive on 1/3

Why is that? Is the rule change for quarantines changing on 1/3/22?

Yes, per the guidance Duran sent.

If you are a teacher then wouldn’t you rather have 10 days off than 5?

I assume you don’t have a real job if you would ask a question like this.

No, because that’s 10 days of lesson planning/makeup

I should hope that any APS staff with Covid are reporting it to APS somehow, despite the break, and not waiting until tomorrow morning to call out sick.

I don’t know any teacher who waits until the morning of if they fall sick before then. There’s a way to enter COVID into Frontline and if you fail the qualtrics survey you get an immediate follow up email.

It's not anonymous...APS staff are not going to put in fake positives, if that's what you're suggesting. If they did, there would be consequences.

That’s not what they mean… 10 day quarantine if you report before 1/3. Five day quarantine otherwise.

Most teachers have a sense of duty. They’re not closed schoolers and want kids to be in school. They’re not the whiners on AEM

I think they are saying almost the opposite. I’ve had that thought too. None of us want to prep/be out for 10 days
