I'm the previous poster about the temple. I have been to the Cheescake Factory twice. I appreciated the big menu, but it seemed kind of tacky.

Heh a Cheesecake Factory heir funded a huge Sufi temple near where I live in the Bay Area, and she calls herself a prophet. A guy my husband used to work with married his wife because the Cheesecake Factory heir said it was meant to be.

Another vote here for avocado eggrolls. Shepherd's Pie is also tasty.

The brown bread they give you is awesome!

Give the gift card to the help. You are too good to eat there.

We’re not fans. One of my kids loves it and picks it for all of his special celebrations. It’s ridiculously expensive every time we go and the food is mediocre.

Man, I love the Cheesecake Factory and it’s absurdly large menu and calorie counts. I’m a big fan of the lemon raspberry cream cheesecake and chicken Madeira.

I think it's fine. Some days you want to be fancy some days there's something to be said for eating potato skins and cheap beer at Chili's with some buddies from high school.

I mean known what you're getting yourself into and temper expectations. Anyplace with a menu that big uses frozen/reheated stuff. They have to. But so do most chain places and hey, you've got a gift card and aren't paying for it. So don't look at is as a fancy meal and you're fine.

The portions are crazy. You can literally order a lunch portion and save half and have two big lunches. But it's fine. Don't eat that stuff every day, but but some of the salads and pastas are perfectly fine.

I think most of the cheesecakes there are way too sweet, but again just plan to save half and it's fine.

I haven’t been in years so not sure if this helps…

Their club sandwich used to be really good. They roasted their own turkey.

The Skinnylicious menu has some good choices. I think there was a good salmon dish.

The slice of Linda’s fudge cake is delicious and can serve a family a five.

Same. I would get the to go box before I started eating. I LOVED the chicken and biscuits. I think they changed the recipe.

Kind of embarrassed to admit it but we order from Cheesecake Factory probably once every 2-3 months. It’s close to our house and they deliver fast.

I usually get a Cobb salad or Santa Fe salad. Kids love the Oreo cheesecake (it’s enough for 3 people). The kids menu items are actually the size of a normal adult meal.

The five or six times I've been to CF I've never gotten cheesecake although it does look good.

I always get chicken madeira and take half of it home for lunch the next day. It's so good.

They have some really good apps too.

And I say this as someone who grew up dirt poor and whose family always went to the Cheesecake Factory when there was extra money for a special occasion meal.

I'm not saying it's a place that only the low class eat in at all, either. Don't want to open that can of worms on here.

But like, when my mom won a $100 Visa gift card at work one year, that baby was reserved for the Cheesecake Factory not your ordinary Applebee's or Ruby Tuesday!

This was literally me each time we got to go:

Ha thank you!! Very helpful comment.

That’s a lot of cheesecake! I haven’t eaten non-sweet food there for years, but I do like to get a slice of cheesecake. The Godiva piece splits nicely over two days.
