You would do this if you lived close by, during a visit that was only two hours total, every single time you visited? Both you and the only other person you are visiting with?

There is nothing immoral about it or anything but that is a very strange thing to do.

It wouldn’t necessarily bother me but it is completely weird.

Most people on this thread are agreeing it's weird.

I would just go about doing almost anything I'd do if they weren't there. Blasting music while I clean up from lunch and do dishes? Sure. Check to make sure my air horn is working? Yup. Practice my french horn skills? Yes. Vacuum time? No time like the present.

But if they are napping on the couches, does that mean the whole family has to be quiet because they are sleeping in communal spaces?

My initial thought was no big deal, but reading further I admit it's very odd, not enough for me to get upset about, but it's odd.

They don't really answer. They say they love napping. Then they laugh and act like it's funny that I and puzzled. They don't think there is anything wrong with it.

My late DH had this problem, but he’d just accidentally dose off for a few minutes.

My mom did that too. Sometimes with the fork halfway to her mouth. But more typically she would just ask if she could nap for a bit and usually 30 minutes or so would be enough.

If this has really been going on for years, why haven’t you asked what the issue is?
