The women I know that do this, never mention the husband, are having affairs or looking for an affair.

Leave the door open. That’s what they are doing.

It would be so tacky; this is not the 1950s. I have mom of 2 kids/scientist/native plant gardener in mine.

This is such a trash thing to say and is a product of toxic feminism. If valuing your life partner with whom you spend 60 years of your life is an anachronism from the 1950s, sign me up for the time machines when they are built.

Most women don't define themselves as "wife of X" as a core part of their identity, even if they have a great marriage.

It's amazing how much people like OP so desperately want to pit generations against each other that they'll pick literally any reason.

Disagree. If you choose to be a wife it's an important role and job, women who piss it away to become supermom generally have shit marriages, end up divorced and the kids suffer for it one way or another.

And what exactly is the “wife” job description?

Not all that many years ago (and I'm not old!) did women feel the need to publicly define themselves and make such pronouncements to the world. Really, who cares?

Someone in a group I'm in has in her profile: "Twin Mother..Widow. Author*. Dog Whisperer. Seeker of Truth." I cringe for her.

Being a wife is a job, and most women deserve to be fired from it.

Is being a husband a job?

Because Twitter is not a dating site and that’s what they have to do to stop you from DMing them pickup lines.

Why is this in the relationship section anyway.

Do you see a lot of men refer to themselves as “husband of X?”

For some reason it sounds like you are subservient to your husband if you label yourself as “wife of ___,” particularly if he makes more money than you do.
