Neither “caught” him. The girl went to the police station in October and related that during the 2013 school year that she had a sexual relationship with gthis guy. Nine years ago. It is much more prevalent than you would ever know. Most of the time it’s the 16-17 year old girl who develops a crush on the male coach or teacher. It happens in every school system.
Court records show that he was ordered to pay child support in 2015 then file in November 2021 for custody.
No court records regarding official charges or bail in Montgomery County.
Wait. So he got her pregnant!?!?!?@?!
I don’t think it’s the same woman. Otherwise charges would have been brought in 2015. However pretty close to the time period that he had sex with a Northwood student, he got another woman pregnant.

So... are we catching more of them in MCPS, when actually they're hiding all over, or does MCPS for whatever reason attract more perverts?
These perps get mostly protected in the schools. Occasionally, one gets caught.
MCPS would need to make violations of the Employee Code of Conduct fireable offenses to stop predators before sex abuse happens. The teacher union is against this so MCPS have been soft with employees who blatantly violate the Code of Conduct.
I hope the media will ask some hard questions to MCPS like were there violations of the Code of Conduct of this employee that MCPS knew about or should have known about before the arrest warrant was issued? Also, the investigation began in October. When did MCPS put this staff member/coach on administrative leave? He was coaching Cross Country and Indoor Track - right?

Combination of both, likely.
MCPS has built a culture over the past decade or so that is similar to what the Catholic Church was going. Moving suspected predators around. Covering up for predators.
The myocardial account says he was the victims track coach and the rapes took place during and after school hours.
It also says he is not allowed on Northwood school grounds BUT it doesn't say "any mcps school grounds" so yep. They will probably shuffle hom off to some other poor unsuspecting school.
Sickening.

I doubt we'll ever be able to get rid of it completely. We have procedures that should both out the pervs and protect the innocent. They need to be more rigorously followed.

What procedures?
