The reason you eat pork is because a pig can’t look behind him.

I’m from the south. New Year’s Day is always pork, black eyed peas, and greens. Health and wealth! I can do without the pork but new year’s day without black eyed peas feels blasphemous.

We always have fondue on Christmas Day, but I think we’re going to do fondue and raclette this NYE, as well.

Traditional pork loin with black eyed peas and collard greens on New Year’s Day. I think I’ll do Marcella Hazan’s pork braised in milk. So good.

We have raclette on NYE. New Year’s Day we’ll have oysters on the half shell, salmon roe caviar and blini, and a cheese and charcuterie platter. Ordered a fancy cake with champagne buttercream from somewhere via Goldbelly, and will have that for dessert both evenings.

Tourtiere, with some sides. Haven't decided on the sides. Maybe just salad and roasted broccoli?

I don’t have any traditions beyond something with lentils which is traditionally eaten for good luck/fortune where my parents are from. Lentils in some form.
