Glad your dogs are safe.

Coyote do hunt in pairs and will lure a larger dog. Learned this when two coyotes stalked my Doberman and would have taken him down had I not been present.

Farmer here, coyote would be my last worry. Cars, yes.

Search FB for your city Lost and Found Pets groups. My area has such a group with tens of thousands of participants. They are much better than the Humane Society at reuniting pets.

Sounds very strange, are you sure they weren’t taken?

Do you live in a neighborhood or an area with a lot of land? Do they get out often?

As a city person I already said this so you can stop with your eye roll. Not helpful and pretty unnecessarily snarky.

meant to highlight this. City people know a thing or two.

Anonymous wrote:I live out West (not in DC), and coyotes will go after larger dogs here. I've even known people who were walking their dogs on leash and they were attacked by coyotes. But DC has fewer coyotes and they have more access to food than here, so hopefully your pups will be okay.

Oh stop it. A coyote isn’t going after a large dog. A wolf would. But not a coyote.

OP, they are bigger than most coyotes and maybe they are huddled somewhere hiding to keep warm.

Hang in there, OP. It’s great they are chipped.
