I am a teacher in NYC. There was a school holiday party last weekend that i chose not to attend. At least 8 staff members now have Covid and were out this week after it. It never should have happened

NP. How would they know if you didn’t just stick a bow on the gift and hand it to a 2yo? DON’T TAKE THIS ON, and if you do, don’t “vent” to anyone but yourself. You’re being ridiculous.

Correct. Come with a legit grievance. We’re not into manufactured martyr-complex complaining here on DCUM.

My petty grievance is that my loving and thoughtful relatives, with whom we don't have a lot of contact so they don't know us that well, keep sending us super delicious sweets for holiday presents. But DH doesn't like sweets and I limit my sugar intake for health reasons.

I always end up giving it all away to the neighbors.

Amazing. A 3 slice sandwich and 1/4 cup of chili might feed my tween.

My SIL is insisting on a "party with punch" 90 minutes before the church service. I told her my 4, 6 and 7 year old are now officially her problem after they were just overserved with sugar.

I apparently took 1 too many slices of lunch meat

There was an argument in the kitchen, quite heated, between MIL and FIL on how he'd screwed up. Hadn't bought the amount of lunch meat he'd been told to buy. What he did was fine. Turns out a sandwich should be made out of 2 slices rather than 3.
