Subject: What’s the most extreme thing you’ve done to support your kid in their sport?
Where do I start? Travel all over the country, drive my kid an hour each way to practice three times a week, pay a large amount of money for fees…..give up a large percentage of my spare time spectating. But, my kid loves it, is pretty certain to play D1 at college and loves having me watching. Not too much to ask in the overall scheme of things.

Sold our SFH and moved into a townhouse (in DD's sport, this is not unprecedented).

Does this count? DS10 needed to pass a swim test to enjoy his week long day camp. He had to sit out one summer and was upset to miss the fun (camp required basic swim/treading water, water safety).
I got off season, one on one lessons at a swim school but the only time was during the school day. I picked him up early every Wednesday for over a month - I think I told the school he had a standing appointment.
DS an older teen now and loves the water - he’s never gonna be a competitive swimmer but at least he’s safe and can swim.

I’m about to call mine transgender and have him compete against girls in track and field. Who will know his real “gender identity” when it’s unverifiable and based purely on his say so?
I’m a soon to be divorced single mom and I’m done playing fair when scholarships are on the line. My boy is very fast and has gone to states, but he’s just outside medal contention with the boys. He’s going to freaking dust the girls.

Subject: What’s the most extreme thing you’ve done to support your kid in their sport?
DD at 5 really wanted to do hockey. I knew it was a phase. I froze my butt off for a year for skating lessons, hockey skating lessons, learning to play hockey lessons. Not to mention driving all the way to Ashburn when we live in Fairfax. Only for DD to be like yeah I'm good just when she was starting to show progress.

Organizing family vacations around sports schedules. Arranging for DC to come home early from a school trip for a meet.
