I agree with you on this. I also am concerned that she is not a resident of the state, has not lived here in many years, and that her parent experience with the public school system was extremely brief. She has no skin in the game, as they saying goes. That does not bode well for anyone.

I can't wait for more charter schools and county-wide choice. Let the public funds follow each student and let their be multiple service providers using public funds to provide k-12 education. If we can have choice in hospitals and doctors under medicare, we can have choice in public school institutions under school choice. Let students, parents, and families decide which schools serve them best and let the schools compete for students rather than basing education on the vicissitudes of how expensive your house or land value is and how lucky or unlucky you are with the school principal's leadership that year.

+1 People who have never spent a day in a public school, who would never consider sending their own kids to a public school, couldn’t care less about our state education system. The words Data Quality Campaign make my stomach turn. Get ready for more testing.

Yes, we don’t need charter schools because some parents were mad about virtual school during a pandemic.

I like the idea of charters for kids with learning disabilities though.

I didn’t know this until I just researched it, but Virginia only has seven charter schools total in the state.
