What’s the point of even having laws that prohibit this if we’re not going to enforce them? Arming a minor who can’t legally buy a gun, without their parents’ permission, should be a crime.

There really is no analogy here at all.
Study some of the facts. KR was maced by police when he tried to report what had happened.
What happened to GF was wrong. Very wrong. But, he also shouldn't be made into a martyr. He was not a great example to emulate.
KR is being recognized not by who he is, but what he represents - the ability to defend oneself.

Now suppose there was a black guy illegally buying guns for an inner city black juvenile who then went on to shoot and kill several people? Would be a totally different story. No pleas, they'd lock him up and throw away the key.

I have to disagree with the posters calling him a murderer. I followed the trial pretty closely and think the jury got it right. The only thing Rittenhouse is really guilty of is showing poor judgement by placing himself in high-risk situation.
Agreed, but it is his right to do so.
Neither he nor the rioters had a right to be there. There was a curfew in effect. They were all breaking the law just by being there.
The prosecution did not provide any evidence of a curfew order. The judge then threw out that charge against Kyle. So Kyle had a right to be there.
