+1 Vaccines should be required for all staff and all students. It’s hypocritical to require vaccinations for certain students but not require it for all students and staff.

There is not a chance that requiring vaccines for all MCPS students is a good idea.

Because kids don't have to formally register to be a part of such clubs, it would be difficult to require or track vaccinations, unless you made them bring their vaccine cards to enter a club meeting. What do you think mandating vaccines for kids will do?

My kid is vaccinated and plays basketball. Last night, our HS basketball games were cancelled anyway. Due to too many athletes being out with Covid.

MCPS might be saying that sports can continue, but so many sports ended up cancelled anyway. Our Swim Meet was also cancelled last week due to Covid.

DP.. I think some parents don't like that it's still EUA for covid vax. The other vaxx have been used for many years.

FWIW My kids are all vaxxed, but I did have some reservations for my 13 yr old DD who is built like a 10 yr old.

The other vaccines were also new when they were new...

And none of them were mandated when they were EUA. Not a single one.

Pfizer is studying the (very small number of) kids in its Covid vaccine clinical trials for 24 months to see what happens. There is a reason for that.

Pfizer is absolved of all responsibility when a vaccine is administered under EUA. It is unethical and wrong to mandate a Covid shot at this point, and really for at least the next year or two.

Kids die in Maryland for so many tragic reasons. And they are more likely to die in a car accident or at the hands of a parent than they are to die if Covid.

4 deaths since March 2020. That is (luckily) and incredibly tiny number. And that is certainly not enough reason to mandate any kind of shot, but especially not a shot that is not even fully FDA approved. And not even EUA for kids under age 5.
