Subject: Where to bike?
Lots of road bikers use the loop at hains point. It's 2 right turns and gets you a 3 mile loop with very lttle traffic.
A long loop is to go out mccarthur, then falls road to tuckerman / democracy to beach drive, which you can take all the way back to georgetown. Lots of road bikers on that route too. But more traffic.

There are miles and miles of separated, bike-only lanes in DC and Alexandria. You won’t have to contend with a single car in them.
Of course, you’ll still have to deal with other lawless cyclists, so it’s probably just as dangerous.
