I am in awe of you guys who say once or twice a month. We probably eat out like 4 times a week. I absolutely hate to cook. My DH loves it but sometimes after work he just can't handle it.

Takeway once every two weeks, dining out perhaps once every two months.
One does tend to waste more food eating out. The last time we ate out was at a well regarded burger joint and the burgers came with massive helpings of fries and most of it went uneaten.
Takeaway and home cooking all gets eaten. I never throw away food. If you're throwing away takeaway food or food you took home from a restaurant, it's only your fault.

Pre-kids, probably 3-4 per week not including traveling. (both of us gained 15 lbs)
Post-kids but pre-Covid, 1x a week, either takeout or date night.
Now, takeout maybe 1x per month max. (lost weight, saves money, food cooked at home is healthier)

3x a week for lunch when I'm in the office at work.
Maybe 2x a week for family dinner.
I do a fair amount of cooking though. It's easier with a bigger family. If I were only one person I would probably cook less.
