And no, my DC does not go to FH. DC goes to a Catholic HS.
From what I understand they have one of the best in the world. It is one of the reasons we are considering it.
Based on what? I know they beat Harvard in some competition about 5 years ago, but is there any other reason some people are saying they are best around?
They finished top 5 two years in a row among a bunch of universities. Again, I’m no FHS apologist. Didn’t even apply there for DC, but it does have a good reputation for robotics.

TJ is better than Potomac? I would have thought the kids get a better overall experience at Potomac. Guess that shows how much I know
PP here. Most of the FFX families I know are obsessed with TJ, but will grudgingly consider BASIS or TPS etc if they don’t get in. FWIW, I personally would choose TPS as a better overall experience for my child, but I doubt there is a better STEM-focused HS in the country than TJ.
You must be a public school parent. I am a Fairfax County parent that send my kids to private school. I don’t know anyone obsessed with TJ.
Nope. Two kids in private. An all boys HS and a K-8 Elementary

Ours got into TJ, but chose Potomac. But I'm not sure there are "many" who do.

You're correct, Flint Hill is not popular on this board and for good reason.
I am not a FH parent, however my friend's child started there this year. He is a strong student and is enjoying the school greatly. The Robotics team is among the best in the country and college placement among these students is excellent.
If you can't say something nice, don't bother saying it at all.

Good Counsel in Olney has a well regarded, selective STEM program. Project Lead the Way recognizes it in the top 3% of HS STEM programs nationally. You apply as an incoming freshman and they accept 40 students each year. My son is in the program this year as a 9th grader and enjoying it. His classmates are a mix from magnet, public and parochial schools.
