conversely, when I was little the thing that helped me so much was a shade on the window--the flickering light without a shade made me motion sick. I still don't like driving through forests on sunny days. So it might not be the car seat per se but other things about the ride. I also do better when it's cool in the car or a window's cracked.


The window opened a crack dramatically reduces carsickness in my kid

Thank you! We were looking at the Rava or possibly Maxi Cosi. Second to safety, comfort for our baby is our biggest priority since him hating the carseat is so limiting for us.


Whatever is making him hate it, it’s probably not something that varies car seat to car seat. It’s probably just he doesn’t like being strapped down or the motion of the car or something. I wouldn’t get too fixated on the seat itself.


Switching totally fixed my kid who hated the car. He's old enough that the actual carseat we used is no longer made, but his Dr. said some kids are just more comfortable at the upright angle.

I moved mine to a door position and she seems to hate the car less. She is still rear facing but she can see out the window.

Love my Sirona S and my former-car seat-hating toddler does too. Part of it was how uncomfortable and hard it was getting her in and out (I’m shorter with an SUV) and with the swivel it’s so easy, she enjoys getting in.

Love the Diono. We have one in each car. Kids sit higher up in them which my kid enjoys.
