Come on. If it’s okay fir the nanny to grocery shop a d do the kids laundry it’s okay to wrap presents. The only issue I could see if she wouldn’t have enough time, but if you’re paying her while kids are in school, then sure, NBD to ask!

Wrapping gifts for the kids? Sure! Wrapping your gift to Aunt Matilda or your Mother who may be mean to the nanny? No.

If it’s for your kids it doesn’t have to “ look nice” they won’t notice. And when you think back to your childhood do you remember how the gifts were wrapped?

This is absolutely ok. Everyone I’ve hired to help with our kids wouldn’t think twice about this request and would love to bring some extra cheer to the kids. I’m always amazed by the weird relationships DCUM posters have with anyone who helps in their homes.

Sad.

I disagree with the masses and think it's fine to ask our nanny to do anything that's in relation to the kids.

there are people who wrap gifts for others. usually moms, but older kids could also do this job. my friend just offered this service and it was 5 - 15 per gift and she used all her own supplies. i would do this as a service if i knew people who would pay for the service.

My nanny has always helped wrap gifts. She offered the first time. We changed nannies after 7 years this year due to first nanny moving away, and she was thrilled when I asked her to help wrap DS's goody bags for his birthday.

It really depends on your job ad, though. We've always made it clear that we are looking for someone who is willing to help make the house run smoothly (especially now that kids are in school). If she doesn't expect to do things that aren't directly childcare, she'll balk. But normal people who have downtime while kids are in school or napping but are still getting paid probably won't think this is an issue.

Slap a bow on if you want---but really, all that stuff ends up in the trash, so there's not much point. Make a couple fancy, and keep the rest simple. If you really want to keep it simple, put all of Kid 1's presents in one paper, and all of Kid 2's in another, and you don't even have to put tags on then.

nanny here--feel free to ask! totally fine to ask. I'd love to help with something like that if I had time. If I had 3 kids under five to keep track of, then no, but older kids? Sure, why not? Just ask if she has any interest in that and it's totally fine to say no. Let her choose, not random internet strangers. She might welcome a distraction from the ordinary. I would.
