He’s actually the smartest one on the Council.

OMG
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
He *thinks* he's the smartest one on the Council. He's not the Boy Wonder his PR people would have you believe. He does manage his own political ambitions well, though.

No he doesn’t. His parents donated a lot of money to Franchot and Franchot took him under his wing. There’s really no secret here. It’s just basic privilege and mild corruption.

He’s actually the smartest one on the Council.

If this is true it’s only because the standards are so low.

He's one of the only councilmembers I actively dislike, after our entire neighborhood was polled, a majority opposed the nonsensical dog park smack in the middle of Norwood Park, & he rammed it through. Very open to any contender!

He craves the adoration of TP liberals at the expense of his own constituents. He also has a smirk that just pisses me off.

Roll your eyes all you want; they ignored code & sited it (too) close to a tot lot; it's right smack in the middle of a multi use area, and, most importantly, a majority of the people affected voiced opposition. Not a terribly democratic process.

This is true for basically any proposal for change. Also, this is how the democratic process works: the voters elect representatives (for example, county council members) who make decisions. And this is NOT how the democratic process works: decisions are made by the people who choose to testify at public hearings.

This is correct. But almost nobody seems to understand it. Especially the politicians.

Friedson does stuff like question why the county needs to pass toothless resolutions on international affairs for example. (Leave that for Congress please).

Agreed. Although Friedson did cosponsor that stupid bill that gives away $18 million a year to the Green Bank, which already has hundreds of millions from Exelon, but has no customer base.

He also cosponsored the subsidies for the Grosvenor development, which will cost more than $100 million and don't even require the developer to build the promised high rises (the alleged purpose of granting the subsidy) to receive them.

They’re all horrible. They didn’t do a single thing about schools staying closed and even yelled at parents advocating for their safe reopening . Friedson was the worst and then had the gall to claim credit when the BOE finally started to reopen. So pathetic.

Elrich has been mismanaging funds his entire term, particularly where FEMA reimbursement is concerned. He promised front line workers $10 an hour COVID differential, indefinitely, with no end date. He even paid VOLUNTEER firefighters a covid differential. All the while promising FEMA would reimburse for it, but they won't reimburse most of it. Pennies on the dollar. Leaving a big huge hole in funding. And Friedson is the one who's consistently been calling him out on it.

I was interested in Brooks but I've come to realize she's a developer shill. The woman on the planning board, hard pass.

Oh boy, if you think she's a developer shill, there aren't going to be any candidates you like.

Brandy Brooks is anything but a developer shill. She's the most pro-renter and pro-keeping housing affordable of anyone and even challenged Casey on the planning board. She's the bridge between the YIMBYs and Elrich IMO.

Haha sure! And if the elected rep doesn't submit proposals that are change I want I can vote for someone else next time! Go dog go!
