He has discussed this incident in Council hearings about police reform and repeatedly said he was pulled over for the expired registration tabs. And he was mad about that because of the moratorium Hogan had placed on renewals during covid. Everybody knows he was pulled over for talking on a cell phone, but he never mentioned that part.

The truth here is much more banal.

He was angry for getting pulled over because he thinks he’s a big shot councilmember.

He decided to make a big deal of it and request a hearing instead of paying a small fine so he coins grandstand.

Because he’s another MC council liberal incompetent, he didn’t bother to attend the hearing because he stopped caring once the issue lost salience. Probably tossed the court notices in the trash.

If you read the article, it states clearly that he claims the check was literally lost in the mail, which is the second worst excuse after “dog ate my homework” and could offer no proof.
