What are you talking about? There is a very serious challenger:

I worry that Sabel wouldn't be all that different than Brianne -- like her, she thinks violence interrupters are the solution to everything even though there's a growing pile of evidence that shows they are nearly worthless -- but she definitely will be an improvement in terms of constituent services. Brianne simply does not care about that, it's below her. Sabel needs to hammer home how she will be different and better than Brianne, not just rehash Brianne's talking points.

That’s a defeatist attitude. If anything it might be a brilliant campaign strategy to stay close on policy issues while promoting constituent service as an area where she would be better because everyone knows it’s her biggest weakness, even supporters.

FFS. Nadeau grew up in GROSSE POINTE with a very silver spoon. Her heart may be in the right place - but she has accomplished ZERO for the urban poor - let alone, MC. None of her pet projects have come to fruition. Her constituent services are terrible. She is in a service industry. She is not serving anyone or anything except Instagram. It's time for new blood.

Never forget that brianne ran a very corrupt campaign in 2014 and got away with it:

Consider that sometimes people might not agree with you? Reflect on whether you are within your rights to declare they should be ashamed to hold opinions that challenge yours, maybe? No? That's too foreign a concept? Sigh.

African American man, thirty-five year D.C. resident here. Logan Circle for years, Petworth resident since 2003. Nadeau has to go.

Nadeau was her usual mess on The Politics Hour today on WAMU. She's awful, but, in all seriousness, who on the Council is not? Gray (who has no power so long as Bowser is mayor and ignores him) and arguably the chairman.

The progressives on the Council are particularly odious. I moved to the District in 1990 when the middle class (all of the white MC and a large majority of the AA middle class) had fled the District. There was only the upper class ---who sent their kids to private schools, the remainder of the AA middle class---who sent their kids OOB to WOTP schools, and an extremely poor multi-generational poverty underclass---who used the remainder of the public schools, which were in such terrible shape that they literally could not open on time. 14th Street and H Street were boarded up and derelict, and had been since the 1968 riots. The District is far, far better in multiple ways now than it was then. But the progressives' tolerance of the encampments and push for policies that protect criminals and encourage crime are going to send us right back to those days.

This is it exactly. We middle income families need city services to work well for us, too, because we can't afford to duplicate them privately. Nadeau has made it clear she doesn't care about us.
