Florida is safer than the rest of the US right now lmao
Covid rates are lower in Orlando than in Fairfax county. Go figure.
I know many friends whose kids have had to quarantine. Some schools have multiple classes out. One covid positive family can really screw a school with siblings.

I would like to have a small holiday party. We are going to Disney world. Not sure if people will want to avoid us.
We were ultra careful for a year. Then adults got vaccinated. 2 of my 3 kids are now vaccinated. DH and I have our boosters.
Yes, I'm avoiding people like you who are traveling and having parties You aren't being ultra careful if you are going to Disney and parties and other stuff. That isn't even careful.
Have your party. Most will go, some of us would not.
I said I was ultra careful for a year. We basically didn’t socialize and spent all our time outside, didn’t eat out, etc.
It has been 21 months. We started socializing since the spring in small groups outside.
We can just wait until 2022. I won’t have the holiday party.

I don’t know why travel is more of a risk than that?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:No, I wouldn't want to come to an indoor party with you after your Disney trip and before my family get togethers. At this stage I am prioritizing seeing my own family for the holidays and trying to minimize the chance that we may pick up or spread something at those gatherings. So, I won't be going to friend or work parties or doing much hanging out until Christmas when we'll go see extended family for a long period of time.
In general travel doesn't bug me, but Disney with unvaccinated kids does bug me.
This. No parties or hangouts etc. until after we see the one relative we will see at the holidays, who is super cautious like we are. It's not being mean or judgy, it's being careful.
And I'm assuming OP wasn't thinking about the existence of the omicron variant of covid which is already in the US. By the time it gets tracked it's already established, like delta variant was, and it's (as far as we know right now) potentially far more easily spread than either "original" covid or delta variant. Sure, we don't know for sure yet, but that makes me even more cautious about travel. Especially travel to a place like Disney, with so many unvaxxed kids and, I have to figure, many unvaxxed adults too, and possibly the only mask-wearing in Fla. That's my take, OP, but if your family is religious about masking you could be fine with it. My concern would be unvaxxed kids who might not always mask properly;the adults likely would be OK.
