Bring up your concerns with an OB at GW MFA.

I would never switch away from them, having had two kids at GWUH with OBGYN MFA docs. So many eyes on everything means much less room for error.

But can he deliver at GW? Don’t want to go to sibley

Having delivered babies at both hospitals, I don’t know why on earth you would choose GW over Sibley. He does the vast majority at Sibley. It’s such a better hospital for a lot of reasons. He only does super high risk deliveries at GW.

I'm a patient of Dr. DeSouza and highly recommend him (and deliver at Sibley, not GW).

Sibley isn’t convenient locations wise.

The convenient one for me is honestly WHU which is why this post…. Anyone there right now? Or recently.

I promise you it’s worth it to drive 15 more minutes across town but don’t listen to me, feel free to learn the hard way.

If you’re delivering that fast you have bigger problems. If this is your first and you think the baby will come that fast, lol.

No, it’s number three so this is a real concern as 1 and 2 were quick (but I still had time to make it in).

Then again I may be induced in which case everything would be different. I hate to switch hospitals last minute though!

I'm not a GW apologist- they are incredibly frustrating to deal with right now. I'm in my 3rd trimester doing weekly visits right now, and I'm not going to switch because I have an extremely high risk pregnancy with expected delivery complications, and I want to deliver in GW hospital, where I know I will have the highest level of care. I went to GW for my last two pregnancies, and was very happy with them. Now, less so, and I totally understand people who are frustrated with the level of service right now.

Some more background I got from my doctor:
* GW MFA just switched to the EPIC (spelling?) patient system, which means they are now on the most widely used patient record system in the country. So if you see a doctor in, say, Virginia, and then transfer to GW, your OB will most likely be able to access all your old records.
* the transfer process from the old system to the new is awful. Basically your doctor has to pull up your old records in the old system, which now has limited functionality, and information has to be imported, I believe manually, into the new. So your first couple appointments on the new system are going to suck, and many appointments are running long, which is leading to long wait times.
* My doctor outsourced my next two ultrasounds to the GWU hospital, because I couldn't get an appointment with the remaining techs at MFA. GWUH was able to fit me in, but I don't know if they'll be able to accommodate all the overflow from MFA.

GW is a total sh*t show right now. New app doesn't work - I messaged my doctor and she said she never got my messages. It's almost impossible to get an appointment. They are severely understaffed, their admin staff are unhelpful and rude and have no idea what they are doing. My doctor even recommended I go elsewhere because she doesn't see it getting any better. I cannot believe so many people like them and recommend them.

Does anyone know, when you're required to have fluid checks with each NST will that happen without these techs? They didn't schedule me separately for an ultrasound with those.

My understanding is that one of them had a baby and should be returning in Jan/Feb. I don't know about the other two.
