Subject: Would you travel across country twice in 1.5 weeks?
When something like this came up, I just stayed for both events. It seemed easier. DH went back home and skipped the engagement party (shower in my case) and the kids had a hoot making the rounds among grandparents and extended family.

Nope. If they wanted you there, they could have scheduled it during your visit. I wouldn't, for an engagement party.

No it would be too much for us personally
