Oh, that's the ref's name! I was thinking it was the coach's. I've never seen this sort of report.

So that's three people sent off, one of whom was additionally cited for "abuse of official"?

And is that an assault on an official, or is that just a blank field?


Obviously I wasn't at this game so cannot be certain in this case, but in my experience, when a game gets this out of hand, the ref is usually at least partly to blame.

No confirmation here.

FWIW, the center ref slots here were NOT among those filled at the last minute. (Actually, the Herndon tournament filled up pretty well. Hunt Country was a bigger problem.)


Two games with a tournament official (host club coach) instead of a ref in that tournament. Those were best ref’d games I’ve seen all season. Fair and consistent calls by an official in decent enough shape to be near the action while not impeding it.
