Bombay Bistro in Rockville
(And visit Savvy Treats bakery in the same building afterward for take-home desserts.)

Chettinadu is not for the faint of heart, it's a niche region/area of Indian cooking (very tasty but really hot), although recently my take out order was disaster ( we have been going there for 5 yrs) and I haven't mustered enough courage to go back.

The Tandoori Nights in Bethesda closed.

Jewel of India is the best we've been to. You'd never expect the great food and service from the strip mall it's in but it's top notch.

We like Spice Street too. We pretty much only do takeout, so no idea about atmosphere or service.

We triedTandoori Nights a few times. It was very inconsistent for us, so I’m interested in the poster who loves it. When it was good, it was good, but other times it was like we got a totally different dish. This was in the first half of 2020, so maybe a cook was out?

Another vote for Bombay Bistro. Been going there for years— always good. Their deck is nice, too, for sitting outside.

We like Virajji on Cordell Avenue. Food is very good and beautiful decor. They also have interesting cocktails. www.virraaj.com
