I generally don't like giving adults purse, shoes, clothes types gifts, because they are so personal. My observation is that recipients rarely like these gifts as much as the giver thinks they will.

Nanny here. I love framed photographs of my charges.

Nanny here. The most meaningful tangible gifts have something to do with what the family values about me as a nanny. E.g., for a family where I did a lot of hiking with the kids they got me new tevas. For a family that loved my cooking they got me a fancy new Chef’s knife, etc.

My nanny likes personal gifts so in addition to her cash bonus, I usually do one each in the following categories:

Winter warmth: beautiful scarf, gloves, sweater, flannel sheets, blanket in her favorite colors

Self-care: luxury candle, basket of bath items (she loves taking long baths), favorite fragrance

Edible: assortment of her favorite chocolate confections, seafood direct from Alaska, NY cheesecake, holiday dessert

Floral: festive holiday arrangement or plant

We don’t know anything about her or her interests/likes, but here are some luxe ideas that I’ve liked:
AirPods
Manduka pro yoga mat
Hydro flask water bottle
Apple Watch
Patagonia fleece
Shearling slippers
Cashmere throw

The MoMA design store has great gifts. https://store.moma.org/

Perhaps she would like the Dusen Dusen bathrobe, the Gemini espresso maker, or the X cap light up hat (for running)

Also, check out the podcast/website "A Thing or Two" with Claire & Erica. They are genius with gift ideas.

Does she have a Kindle? I love to read and download books from the library on my Kindle.

What's the age range of your nanny? That might be helpful to know.

I have these fleece flip gloves that I love. You can cross your fingers easily when at the park, but they keep my hands warm.
Lush stuff

I’ve given shearling slippers, leather gloves, cashmere scarves, Molton Brown sets, Penney’s spices. The biggest hit was a Restoration Hardware faux fur throw.

OP here and thanks but the bonus and Christmas gifts are separate. She really does not like any gift cards.
