My experience as well. I know fully well that this is not universal. However, as a first-time parent I assumed 3 was the norm based on what my friends were doing.

I'm very glad someone recommended that I try with my son at around 22 months.

NP here with a late trainer. I was never worried. I was frustrated, exhausted and grossed out. The joy of getting a man-sized poop out of tights left in a plastic bag all day from daycare is something I’ll never forget.

I know a lot of children who were not potty trained until almost 4. It’s not at all unusual. Nothing at all to worry about.
