There were many missed calls during the game, and it was almost unbelievable that the first card went to Gtown. More importantly, the missed call in OT is only NOT game-changing because Gtown won the shootout. Brian Wiese was uncharacteristically upset after the no call -he almost never gets as agitated as he was yesterday - and if they had lost the shootout he would have cause yo have been apoplectic. The red is lucky that Gtown prevailed.

I can not get that upset about the ref. Wiese should have been more upset about the bad passing and miscommunication between the forwards and midfield in the final third. They had little to no answers on how to break WVa defense. Not starting Tabora and getting him touches was a coaching mistake. Maybe he was deflecting?

As a side note. Everyone was slipping on that field. They need to change the sod mix or turf the thing. The grass they have now usually goes dormant in early November when both the women and men are playing the most important games.

Yep, so many mistakes in that game. I’m not usually one to allege bias, but he seemed to be pretty blatantly anti-Georgetown

- Missed foul in the box in the first half when the Georgetown player was tripped.
- Lack of cards on WV and then a card to Georgetown.
- Missed handball in the box in OT
- Missed foul in the box either in the second half or OT
- Missed blatant shove in the back that knocked a Georgetown player down, then another foul while he was on the ground
- Allowing a retake of a PK after the Georgetown keeper saved it. Not necessarily wrong, but almost never called, he didn’t look like he moved egregiously early, and the ref had previously screwed Georgetown on no-calls.

I don’t see him reffing a big game again anytime soon, either. The broadcast team was pretty incredulous.

No the ref missed one call in OT. The others things you list are things that happen in big games. There is no video review. WVa back line was pretty big and physical but Georgetown was also physical. If a goalie comes off the line on a PK or shot from the line it should be called. Georgetown’s only goal was a Pk on a marginal call. The OT was a clear pk. There were two calls that could have gone WVa’s way. It all balanced out. Over the ref really did not change the out come of the game.

Weird that three of the four deciding games ended in penalties. Only Washington won outright.
